Some post retreat thots...

Juz bk from a christian retreat (someone commented that the few of us are brave enough to join a retreat where we dun know most of the ppl) ... I went with some expectancy and bit hesitant considering i dun noe much ppl, but hey, i nid a getaway (if i dun spend the 4 days at tis retreat, I'm probably somewhere scuba diving, getting away, drifting along...) ... it was well spent.

some thots came along ... Ever wonder how can one totally surrender unto Christ? ... The word "Surrender" can't be taken lightly ... Surrender of all rights, all desires, all goals.. basically, all of me! ... It takes faith & action ... Can you do it? ... If we can't/don't grasp these truths, we can't:
1. Staying Afloat in storms ... facing the storms
2. Key to significance ... we're significant
3. True Greatness ...
4. Wild gratitude ... a grateful heart
5. Ultimate Trust ...
6. Victory ... over death

I'm encouraged by the open sharing by various individuals, of deep hurts and bondages ... and how God dealt with each one over time, gently ... we've a God who heals and is actively working in our lives ...

Washing the feet of one another brought about a great sense of humility in each of us, as well as appreciation of the person who's feet we're washing ... Writing down our list of "Passive Surrender" & "Active Surrender", and dedicating them to God was a step of faith we all took ...

I'm reminded of this thot: "We're free, because we can't control our future" ... so very true, we can be free from worry, because, we really can't control our future ... do you think you'll still be alive tomorrow morning? ... wat fear do we have, if we're secured in Christ ... live with eternity in mind ...

Pastor Stanley shared during communion, a short sharing on "Committment" ... It struck a chord in me, if we do not commit our lives to God, how would we know that God is good? ... For those who've walked the path, they can truly testify that God is good ... What has God entrusted to me? What have I committed myself to? ... Am I running away? ... "Search my heart and know my anxious thots" ...

year is coming to an end ... end it well ... 'masterpiece, an artwork in the making'
