ramblings for the wk ... my thots & experiences

It's time for tis "Man of few words" to fulfil his quota of words for the wk ... Guys dun tok much right? ... haha, not as much as ladies ... there're some exceptionals though.

Work is surely heating up ... meetings galore, issues to settle, processes and red-tapes to get thro' ... and amidst all these, to stay sane, patient and aware of the relationships, circle of friends, family is quite a challenge ... and of cos, God, how can I miss Him out? ;) ... "Persevere, and through these trials, develop our character" ... hav to get the right attitude ya.

a church fren of mine is down in the dumps, or as aptly quoted by his mum "he's in the valley..." had the desire to take over his keyboard role in this wk's church band, sms him, no response ... but before u know it, he asked me ... we've to help one another eh ... juz lost some precious sleep getting the "long" list of songs for this wkend's "healing service" by Rev. Rusty Russell.. my god-sis is the worship leaderess =p.

In tis wk's guitar lessons at believer's music, we were all assessed on our skills ... it was quite amusing to see how "stressed" up some of my group mates were haha ... oops, ego brewing (forgive me God =p) ... for once, i actively participated, and was quite fun doin my best to lighten up the stresesd up ... i learnt, i'm given a talent, not for my glory, but for God, and the benefit of helping and blessing others as well ... and let's juz say I "aced' the test ;) ... one of the important lessons I learnt from these weeks of guitar playing, was coming back to the intimate and simple moments of simply worshipping with my guitar ... i found what I lost, when I seek God's face ... beautiful.

had a good time sharing and dining with my pastor (rev timothy ewing-chow) ... tis is the 1st time i really shared with him my heart, issues and trials ... and how i'm approaching God and walking through the lessons and phase ... and he encouraged me with his "street-wise" Christian walk thro' life Bible-based experience-gained wisdom Haha ... and on impulse, decided to join him at a teaching seminar by the Methodist bishop from West Malaysia (Bishop Hwa Yong) .... titled "Biblical servanthood or leadership" ... it was funny seeing Pastor Tim take on Bishop in the Q&A segment ... It's interesting to note that from commercial e.g. of successful CEOs, many are of the "servant" attitude, rather than the "larger-than-life" kind, egoistic ... well, I totally agree that all christians should develop a servant heart ... if I'm entrusted with the responsibility of being in a leadership position, take it in faith, keey God in the centre of it all, and serve from that position ... the term "Servant Leader", should emphasise the importance of the "servant" role, rather than the "LEADER" role ... compare the two words, LEADER stands out over servant in worldly eyes, but hey! God looks at the servant heart ... so, which is more important to you? ... choose wisely.

and before you know it, it's TGIF! ... Fridays. Don't you just love them sometimes? ... Not all the times please, we've to love each and everyday of the week ... I joined a group of friends, intending to head to a joint called "Molly's Malone" at boat quay, but crowded... we were then recommended to head to a sister food joint called Dharma-kebabs ... quite nice kebabs, not crowded, had a gd time of chatting and eating ... and finally, we adjouned to the game-cafe called "Mind's Cafe" (I've been wondering what is it all about) ... it's a simple concept of combining cafe and board games in a "cosy" setting, for friends to mingle around ... played "Jenga" and "Cranium", it was fun stressing one another's brain even as the night tickled away... nice. I'd the opportunity to see the night life of boat, clarke and robertson quay (made the mistake of parking far away at robertson walk :/, but i'd company to walk me back =p)

seems i'm coming down with a "sore" throat, gotta take care of myself, lousy weather lately ... another wk is coming.

sigh, my dad, i think he's "addicted" to soccer betting ... just showed me his world cup winnings from the final game between Italy and (who's the other team?) (funny how we only remember the winner and not the 2nd-placed winner ... human I am ...) ... English Premier League starts tonight.. gotta pray for him...

and what does the wkend hold for me? ... well, let's just be expectant ...
